  1. Overview

Welcome to the Debugging Human Communication community (“the Community”), hosted by Lovelace Communications, LLC (“the Host”) on the Heartbeat platform.

By joining, posting, or participating in the Community, you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”) as well as Heartbeat’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

These Terms govern your relationship with the Host — not with Heartbeat. If anything here is unclear, please reach out. Clear communication is what we practice here.

  1. Membership & Eligibility

Membership is available to individuals 18 years or older who agree to uphold the Community’s values and guidelines.

Access to certain events, courses, or channels may depend on your membership level.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information and for all activity under your account.

  1. Payments, Renewals & Refunds

Community memberships are billed through Heartbeat or Stripe.

Renewals: Unless otherwise stated, memberships renew automatically based on your chosen plan.

Cancellations: You may cancel anytime through your account settings. Access continues until the end of the billing period.

Refunds: Refunds follow the policy listed at the time of purchase. In most cases, payments are non-refundable once a membership cycle has begun.

If a payment fails or a chargeback occurs, your access may be paused until payment is resolved.

  1. Community Use & Responsibilities

This community is designed for professional development and reflective learning. Members agree to:

  • Contribute respectfully and avoid harassment, hate speech, or spam.

  • Maintain confidentiality for sensitive discussions.

  • Use empathy and curiosity in dialogue, even when disagreeing.

  • Follow moderator instructions and platform rules.

The Host reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these expectations.

  1. Intellectual Property

All original materials created by Andrea Goulet or Lovelace Communications — including courses, guides, videos, and event recordings — remain the property of the Host.

Members retain ownership of their own posts and contributions. By sharing content within the Community, you grant other members a limited license to view and discuss it inside the Heartbeat platform.

Members may not copy, repost, or distribute any Community content (including screenshots, videos, or comments) outside of Heartbeat without written permission from the original author.

  1. Privacy & Confidentiality

We take confidentiality seriously. Discussions within the Community are private unless clearly stated otherwise.

The Host may summarize or anonymize insights from the Community for research, teaching, or marketing purposes — but will never disclose personal or identifying details without explicit consent.

Personal data collected through Heartbeat is governed by Heartbeat’s Privacy Policy. Lovelace Communications does not sell or share your personal information.

  1. Use of Generative AI

To create educational content and community insights, the Host may use generative AI tools (such as a custom GPT model). These tools are configured not to train public models.

  1. Termination of Access

The Host reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for any member who:

  • Violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines,

  • Engages in harassment or abuse,

  • Misuses proprietary materials, or

  • Fails to pay membership fees.

You may also delete your account at any time through your Heartbeat profile settings.

  1. Disclaimer

The Community provides education and peer learning opportunities. Participation does not guarantee specific results or outcomes.

All materials are provided “as is.” The Host makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

  1. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lovelace Communications, LLC, and its representatives are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the Community, including loss of data or reputation.

Total liability under these Terms is limited to the total membership fees paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

  1. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

We strive to resolve concerns through respectful communication.

If a dispute arises, both parties agree to attempt mediation before taking legal action. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles.

  1. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted within the Community and on debugginghumancommunication.com.

Continued participation after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
